Bred to jump! This darling filly by imported stallion Quidam Junior was bred purely to perform. Well conformed with an excellent shoulder, strong, supple back and powerful hindquarter, Quin is a reflection of her undeniably successful jumper heritage. Her puppy dog temperament and easy-going, willing mind shatters any preconceived notion that one might have based on her pedigree. She will make the perfect partner for an ambitious amateur or junior rider.
Quin's sire, Quidam Junior, combines European legend Quidam de Revel, with the top producing mare line in the world (as ranked by the WBFSH)! Junior has competed to the Grand Prix level and is now a Junior Jumper for Spy Coast Farm's Julia Lourie. He is gifted with a “lion’s heart,” and the speed, agility and jump befitting a Quidam de Revel son. Junior attacks the biggest tracks with zeal and rideability.
Quin's dam, Trueheart Tess, was a very scopey and careful former show horse. Through Quin, Tess proved yet again that the ideal match for Quidam de Revel is a mare with blood. A mare from Thoroughbred mare family 1-i, she brings some of the very best jumping lines vis-a-vis her tail female line with the mare Coronium. Through Coronium, Trueheat Tess carries a trifecta of jumping influence:
1) Coronium is by Pot au Feu (Dollar line) who is found in sport Thoroughbreds like Henry the Hawk.
2) Coronium is out of a Pommern mare. Pommern was the sire of the very great TB jumping mare line from Ponova in this country. He is a well loved line for jumpers and jump racers.
3) Coronium herself is the the grand dam of Army Wife, one of the hunters listed by Dr. Birdsall, who was an AHSA Hunter Champion. She is also in the pedigrees of Seventh Heaven, Sombre, and T B Road, all in Dr. Birdsall's famous books.
We expect great things from Quintessa in the jumper ring. She will be started and bred in 2012, all with an eye to competing in the Young Jumper Series in 2014-2015.
Expected to mature at 16.1.
Price: $15,000
