EMC Pik's Pandora
(Pik Solo-Gigant-Wrede-Poet xx)
1996 Black Bay Hanoverian Mare 16.2hh
Bred by the international dressage judge and trainer, Lisolette (Lilo) Fore, Pandora had a hallowed in-hand career before being trained and competed on California's dressage circuit by her amateur-owner, with whom she received USDF HOY honors and scores of 80+%. Pandora embodies the powerful and elastic movement of her sire, Pik Solo. With her cat-like agility and grace, she received the elusive and coveted scores of 9 for "Impulsion" and "Elasticity" at her AHS mare approval, one of only 4 given that year for the entire AHS tour.
Pandora is an Elite Mare Candidate with the American Hanoverian Society, receiving an overall score of 7.66, placing her in the highest echelons of all mares presented to the AHS. She is also a premium mare with the BWP registry with the 2nd highest score in the United States in 2005. The Belgian judges were extremely enthusiastic about the athleticism of this mare.
Pandora's imported sire, Pik Solo, is sired by the legendary Pik Koenig who sired 19 approved Hanvoverian stallions and over 200 main stud book mares. Pik Koenig's offspring have won more than 1.5 million DM. He is known for not only producing exceptionally good showjumpers, but also outstanding dressage horses, as evidenced by his most notable sons, the dressage progenitors, Pik Bube I and Pik Bube II. Pik Koenig was the most successful approved son of the famous sire of showjumpers Pik As xx.
Pik Solo is from the Hanoverian Nigretti line, which is known for its versatility and has influenced sport horse breeding in a great number of countries. Directly, his mother line consists of four consecutive generations of States Premium Mares, including his dam, St. Pr. St. Dorfbraut. In addition to Pik Solo, she produced the approved stallions and internationally competitive jumpers, Grand Garcon (competed in the Olympics for Italy) and Lopez. She can also be found in the tail female line of a dozen approved stallions, numerous FEI-level show jumpers and dressage horses and is also the maternal grand-dam to St. Pr. St. Malve, the winner of the prestigious Ratje-Niebuhr Mare show where only the very best mares are selected to compete.
Pik Solo himself was widely used by American breeders in the '80s and '90s because of his ability to stamp his offspring with powerful and elastic gaits, athleticism and an abundant desire to work. He has produced many successful performance horses at all levels of competition.
Pandora's imported States Premium dam, Glueckskind, was used by Lilo Fore as a key part of her breeding program. In addition to a very successful in-hand career, Glueckskind produced 8 Hanoverian foals, Pandora being her last and to this day, a favorite of Ms. Fore. The dam line represents the old blood of Hannover and also contains several consecutive generations of States Premium mares. All in all, 70% of the mares (19 of 27 possible) in Pandora's 5-generation pedigree are States Premium mares.
Her tail female family produced among others, the Hanoverian stallion Salieri. In his own right, Salieri was very successful in sport as a show jumper, garnering his first victories in advanced class at the age of seven. He had 15 international showjumping wins. In 2000, he won the highly prized "Sires of the World" competition against the best from the rest of the world. But it is through his son, Salinero, that that he has become world renowned. Salinero, the 2004 & 2008 Olympic Champion and four-time World Cup Champion ridden by Anky van Grunsven, has made Salieri a household name in the dressage community. Salieri is also the sire of the Olympic show jumper Seven-Up who also competed in the 2004 Olympic Games.
Proving herself to be an excellent producer representative of her proud international lineage, Pandora presented us with her first foal in 2006, an elegant, red bay colt by the stallion Aslan, named Anczolo (VIDEO of Anczolo at 3 months). At just 10 weeks old, Anczolo became Reserve Champion Colt of the BWP North American Tour, impressing the judges with his powerful, uphill, naturally-cadenced movement and athleticism.
Repeating her 2006 performance, Pandora foaled a spectacular 2008 filly, Izadora, by the KWPN stallion Versace (Haarlem-Goodtimes-Komeet-Marco Polo). Izadora is the complete package...conformation, movement, undeniable presence and the self-confidence of a supermodel on a runway. Izadora was the Champion Yearling Filly of the BWP-NA Tour in 2009 and completed a successful USDF in-hand yearling season, winning Reserve Champion Filly at her last show from a very tough judge.
Pandora is in foal to Blue Hors Romanov for a 2010 foal (VIDEO of Romanov). This will be Pandora's first foal by a dressage stallion. Given the natural ability and movement of her first two foals by jumper-bred stallions, we are very confident about this foal and its aptitude for the dressage court. The foal is available for in-utero purchase.
