(Fidelio - Final Pool xx - And Behold xx)
2010 Dark Bay Gelding (will remain Bay)
Power & grace, an amateur-friendly temperament plus Heartbreaker, Cassini I, two crosses to the legendary Cor de la Bryere and an extraodinary, World Cup-competing Thoroughbred pedigree all wrapped up into one colt. With the proven production power and consistency of Neah Bay and his sire's proven dam line, Fidelius promises to have the conformation, style, jump and mind to be your next hunter or Derby horse and the scope and power to be your next A/O jumper. Fidelius is talented and straightforward... in other words... FUN!
And if his poise and talent doesn't attract a judge's eye, then surely his classic exterior will. With his dark chocolate coat, four socks and blaze, Fidelius looks so much like a little Heartbreaker (his legendary great-grand-sire) in type and appearance. We can't wait to see if this similarity carries over to his jumping capacity!
Fidelius' sire, Fidelio, is by the Grand Prix jumper, Torino, who was recently purchased by US Olympic-medal winning rider Anne Kursinski as HER NEXT OLYMPIC MOUNT. Torino is also the only imported stallion in the US who features both of the highly sought after stallions Heartbreaker and Cassini I.
Fidelio is gifted with a powerful jump, dressage-quality gaits including his sire's 10 canter. And even as a young stallion, Fidelio has an easy-going temperament with a high degree of rideability (we know, we raised him!). All of these ingredients combined to make him a stand out at the recent 70-day test, even though he was one of the youngest stallions at the test. Fidelio carries the hallowed Capitol-Caletto nick that has produced today's showjumping phenoms including Cassini I & II, Dobel's Cento, Cumano, Eurocommerce Berlin and Indoctro among others. He also features two crosses to the indomitable Cor de la Bryere.
Bred for sport by Sylvan Farm, Fidelius' dam, Neah Bay descends from a proven sire and dam-line of high level sporthorse performers and producers. Neah Bay was an accomplished hunter and then moved to the jumper ring where she successfully competed up to Level 7 and was moving up to Grand Prix when a severe pasture injury ended her career. Her sire is the international Grand Prix and World Cup horse, Final Pool xx. A proven producer of both jumpers and dressage horses, Final Pool was one of the few Thoroughbred stallions ever approved for breeding by the NA/WPN. With 8 foals on the ground, we can say with certainty that Neah Bay stamps her offspring with her jump and a born-broke temperament.
Fidelius' grand-dam, Ambling Picture, is the dam of Pia Blanca, a top producing mare in the AHS. Ambling Picture is also the grand-dam of the approved Oldenburg stallion, Agincourt, who jumped successfully at the Grand Prix level with Hap Hansen and the Hanoverian gelding, Far Star, who represented the USEF and American Hanoverian Society in the 5 Year Old Division of the FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Jumpers, at Zangersheide, Belgium in 2003.
Expected to mature at 16.3h.
Price: $12,500
