April 2010: A heart-warming update on Graczi (Aslan-Select Dancer xx) from his amateur-owner after their first show together...
"He was wonderful!!!!! The cliff notes: brave, cute, tried his heart out, never a bad moment,a bit scared, but handled it all like a real champ in the making. I was so proud of him. Jumped everything, and as you will see from the photos, over-jumped...so he was scared and trying too hard. But i was thrilled with him and his can-do attitude. He is such a lovely horse. I think he is my very favorite of all the horses I have had (and there have been lots). Almost afraid to say that, but it is true, he is just a really nice guy."
We look forward to more updates from Lisa & Czi as they continue their showing experience.
March 2010: Happy Birthday to our grand (we won't say old) mare, Neah Bay. She turned 20 years old today! A successful in-hand horse as a youngster, a hunter, a Level 7 jumper and the mother of 7 foals plus #8 due early this summer, she has packed in quite a lot in these two decades. Very special thanks to her breeder, Sylvan Farm, for allowing us to purchase this special mare four years ago.
December 2009: Congratulations to our former stallion, Fidelio JSF, and his new owners, Smith & Green Sporthorses AND to Papillon's son, Balt'Amour JSF and his owner, Marabet Farm, on their successful completion of the 70-Day Test. After watching the boys at the testing, we are very excited about the arrival of Fidelio's first offspring in 2010, as well as the full-sibling to Balt'Amour. Here are a few of our favorite pics of the boys at the test.
September 2009: Izadora and Jess R. wrapped up their first in-hand season in style - Reserve Champion Filly with a score of 77.7% from a very tough-scoring judge at the Northwest Breeders Classic. Congratulations to Jess & Zara!
August 2009: Congratulations to Jessica R. and Izadora on their continued success this summer... Izadora received a score of 79 from the BWP judges in the Yearling Futurity giving her the highest filly score for the entire North American tour! Not to be outshined, Izadora's stablemate, Vesper (by Baron Van Gogh out of
Neah Bay) received the 3rd highest yearling filly score with a 77. Congrats to Jess and her girls!
July 2009: Things continue to get more exciting... our young stallion, Fidelio, whom we just sold to Smith Green Sporthorses, was approved by the BWP! The Belgian judges were very enthusiastic about the performance of this young Torino (Heartbreaker-Cassini I) son and the proven bloodlines he has to offer to American breeders. This marks the third approved stallion for both Torino and his dam, Jete (both owned by Jump Start Farm). Congratulations to Fidelio's new owners.
July 2009: Papillon's hunter son, Balt'Amour JSF, was approved by the BWP. Congrats to his owner, Marabet Farm, and his breeder, Jump Start Farm.
July 2009: Cayah Bay's sire and one of our personal favorite stallions, Coconut Grove, is featured in this month's Warmbloods Today. To read this article chronicling this unique stallion's life and career, click here.
July 2009: Congratulations to Smith Green Sporthorses on the purchase of our young stallion, Fidelio (Torino-Columbus-Condino). We wish "Fiddy" and his new owners the very best in their upcoming endeavors, including the 2009 Stallion Approvals.
June 2009: Congratulations once again to Jess R. and Izadora (Versace B-Pik Solo-Gigant). Izadora won her Yearling Filly Class at her second Oregon Dressage Society USDF In-Hand Show with a score of 78.8% and is now qualified for the year-end Championships. It certainly looks like Izadora is well on her way to follow in the footsteps of her dam, Pik's Pandora, who had a very successful in-hand career. Best of luck to Jess and Izadora at the Championships!
June 2009: More exciting news from our friends. Our mares Papillon and Neah Bay have both become first-time grandmothers. The first foal for Balt'Amour, Papillon's approved son, was born at Marabet Farm. Out of a Rio Grande mare, the big dark bay colt is a strong reflection of his sire's dam line and holds tremendous promise as a future hunter. His pedigree combines the top hunter sires in today's competition ring (according to USEF): Alla'Czar, Rio Grande, Accord II and Cheenook.
And not to be outdone, Neah Bay's daugher, Gemstone (v. Grand Cru) foaled a chestnut colt by the young stallion Providence for Sylvan Farm.
June 2009: Congratulations to Jess R. and Izadora (Versace B-Pik Solo-Gigant) on their second place finish in the Yearling Filly Class at the Oregon Dressage Society USDF In-Hand Show. Not yet a full year old, Izadora scored an impressive yearling score of 75.6% with the judge commenting on her strong topline, her baby doll head and her elastic, naturally cadenced gaits. Best of luck to Jess and Izadora at their next show!
May 2009: Anczolo (Aslan-Pik Solo-Gigant) has left to begin his under saddle career with his amateur-owner. Purchased from us as a weanling, Anczolo has remained with us for the past three years growing up in pasture so it is bittersweet to see him go. We wish Ellie and Anni future success in and out of the competitive arena and look forward to his return in the Fall.
March 2009: Fidelio's sire, Torino (Heartbreaker-Cassini I) is the coverboy in the Belgian sporthorse magazine Equitime! Featured on the coverpage of the story about Belgian Warmbloods in the US, the Belgian judges commented on Torino's growing success as a breeding stallion, especially with his colts, and his performance success. Congratulations to Jump Start Farm. It's not every day that an American stallion graces the pages of an European magazine.
January 2009: Our young stallion, Fidelio, will celebrate his fourth birthday by making his show debut at the end of February at PSJ in Florida. We are extremely pleased with the consistent progress that he is making under John Brown's tutelage. After just 4 months of training, he is jumping small courses, has confirmed lead changes and perhaps most importantly, comes out each day eager to work and to learn. He is impressing John with his scope, his technique, his boldness and his workman-like attitude. According to John, Fiddy is a true reflection of his sire, right down to the tail flip over fences (John trained and showed Torino in 2008).
August 2008: Our young stallion prospect, Fidelio (by Torino out of Jete), is now in Florida to start his formal under saddle training with the European Grand Prix rider, John Brown, of Braveheart Farms. Fidelio will be brought along slowly over the course of the next year in preparation for the 2009 stallion approvals and the 2010 Young Jumper Series.
August 2008: We are extremely pleased to share the news that our Holsteiner mare, Papillon (Ariadus-Cheenook-Blitzwind) is now the proud mother of an approved stallion. Her first colt, Balt'Amour JSF, was approved by the RPSI with scores of 9 for overall impression. Congratulations to Marabet Farm, his owner, and Jump Start Farm, his breeder. We look forward to seeing Balt'Amour make his hunter debut in Florida.
July 2008: Congratulations to Jess R. on the purchase of Izadora. We are thrilled that Zara (aka Izadora) and Evie (aka Vesper) will grow up together. Jess plans to show the girls in-hand and then let them decide which rings they will compete in.
June 2008: Fillies abound! Pik's Pandora graced us with a spectacular filly by KWPN stallion Versace B (Haarlem-Goodtimes). Named after her mother, Izadora, is a breathtaking representation of her international lineage. We expect great things from this dually-talented filly.
May 2008: Neah Bay has done it again... another filly...this time for Sand Ridge Sporthorses. A lovely black bay (going gray) filly named Vesper by the KWPN stallion Van Gogh B. This filly, sold in-utero, is proudly owned by Jess R and will be her future jumping and eventing partner. Congrats to all!
April 2008: Congratulations to Nonesuch Farm on the purchase of Haydn, our Holsteiner broodmare. Haydn will join Hannah (our Coconut Grove filly also purchased by Nonesuch Farm) for her journey to Colorado and will don a saddle once again to resume her riding career in the dressage and foxhunting arenas. We are very excited that Haydn has this opportunity.
August 2007: All three of our Coconut Grove fillies received premium scores from the BWP inspectors. Cayah Bay, our BWP-branded 100% Thoroughbred filly by Coconut Grove out of Neah Bay, was tied for Reserve Champion Filly of the entire BWP-NA tour!!
August 2007: Congratulations to Nonesuch Farm on the purchase of Hannah, our 2 month old filly by Coconut Grove out of Select Dancer. This special filly will travel to her new home in Colorado in the spring, so we quite happily don't have to say goodbye just yet. We wish great things for Hannah in her new home.
July 2007: We would like to congratulate Ann B. of central California on her purchase of the yearling gelding, Graczi. Graczi will be Ann's next jumper prospect. We wish Ann and "Czi" the very best and look forward to updates and pics from the pair.
June 2007: Three for three! Our Holsteiner mare, Haydn (Solid Silver-Calypso II-Aldato) delivered a picture perfect Coconut Grove filly on June 19th. Dark bay, going grey, this very leggy and strong filly named Hialeah is owned by Sand Ridge Sporthorses. Congrats!
May 2007: Our second Coconut Grove foal has arrived ... it's another filly! Select Dancer (aka Gracie) gave birth to a beautiful bay filly with a star and a hind sock on May 25th at 2am. She has the most beautiful baby doll face with doe eyes. In honor of her mother, this sweet girl will simply be called Hannah, which means "grace." Since we now have two Coconut Grove fillies, Hannah will be offered for sale.
May 2007: Our first Coconut Grove foal has arrived! Neah Bay presented us with a gorgeous, extremely leggy dark bay filly on May 9th at 3am. In hopes that she will follow in her mother's competitive footsteps and carry on this proven mare line, we have named her Cayah Bay. She was certainly worth the wait!
November 2006: Congratulations to E. Kennedy on the purchase of Anczolo. Anni will
be Ellie's future dressage mount.
August 2006: Anczolo was Reserve Champion Colt of the BWP-North American Tour! And not to be overshadowed, Graczi received a premium score.
June 2006: Pik's Pandora presented us with her first foal, a bay colt by the stallion Aslan, named Anczolo.
April 2006: Select Dancer (aka Gracie) presented us with her first foal, a bay colt by the stallion Aslan, named Graczi.
